Living and Working Internationally

Living and Working Internationally is a customized family pre-departure program targeted to the country of destination. The program facilitates and enhances the expatriate familys transition to their new living and working environment. This comprehensive program covers both business-related and practical living issues. Equipped with a more realistic understanding of the new culture and the process of adjustment, the family will be better prepared for the experience and more effective in taking full advantage of their new opportunities.

This seminar is designed to teach participants how to:

  • Identify the similarities and differences between home and host culture, and how the differences can affect communications, understanding and relationships with host nationals
  • Increase awareness of participants' personal traits and skills associated with an overseas assignment
  • Recognize and reduce the stress commonly associated with a foreign assignment
  • Examine family structure and dynamics and identify the ways in which family members support one another in an overseas assignment
  • Develop a personal action plan for each participant, unique to his/her own needs, interests and goals

The Living and Working Internationally program is highly interactive. Simulations, case studies, self assessments and small group activities engage the participants in an accelerated learning experience.

As with all of GDIs offerings, our Living and Working Internationally program is offered anywhere, any way, any time, and in any language. Our services are offered in-person, via telephone, online live or self-paced.
